There are many ways to burn calories.
The treadmill, stairmaster, weightlifting, kickboxing — hey, even sex!
Of course, when you’re running a gym, you probably shouldn’t be, y’know, doing that sexy sex there. And you definitely shouldn’t be charging for it.
Guess someone missed the memo!
Alexis Wright is — well, was – a gym instructor in Maine. She ran a Zumba studio, which apparently is a Columbian dance fitness program.
I don’t know. I thought it was some sort of dish.
Anyway, she was busted yesterday for also running a prostitution ring in the gym along with her friend and business partner Mark Strong. I can only imagine what that conversation was like. Let me take a shot at it.
Mark: Hey, you know how we could make some extra money?
Alexis: If I had sex with people in our sweat-stained gym and charged people for it?
Mark: That wasn’t what I was thinking, but I like this idea better!
Yeah, that’s how that went.
Anyway, because the gym’s, y’know, a gym, it had a bunch of cameras that they apparently didn’t think to turn off when they were charging people for sex, and now police have over 100 hours worth of footage that I’m sure they will watch with the utmost professionalism, and a client list of over 100 people including doctors and mayors in Maine.
Oookay, then. So… I guess we’re done here?
UPDATE 10/18/12: So, okay. Some enterprising souls have found a whole lot of footage of Alexis… uh… doing some stuff. What stuff? Um… it’s over here at Gawker. It is not safe for work, or NSFW. You can look. I won’t. I didn’t, Mom. I promise.
Question: What options for making more money do you think they chose NOT to do over prostitution?
