Woman Sells Virginity for $780,000

20 year old Catarina Migliorini has sold her virginity in an online auction for $780,000. The sale was part of a documentary film called Virgins Wanted that follows the journey of two virgins dealing with and eventually overcoming the fact that they are “late bloomers”. The film is being directed by Australian film maker Justin Sisley.

After 15 bids, the winner of the auction is a mysterious Japanese man named Natsu. Catarina and the auction winner will be consummating their arrangements on a flight from Australia to the United States in order to circumvent any possible charges of prostitution. Under the terms of the auction a condom is compulsory and Natsu must be tested beforehand for any sexually transmitted diseases. Sisley remarked:

“The auction closed last night and Catarina is extremely excited. She was speaking to her family in Brazil online and they were extremely happy for her,”

The project began in 2009 and caused outrage in Sydney when the filmmaker put up several posters that said “Virgins Wanted.” Miss Migliorini defended the movie stating:

“I saw this as a business. I have the opportunity to travel, to be part of a movie and get a bonus with it.If you only do it once in your life then you are not a prostitute, just like if you take one amazing photograph it does not automatically make you a photographer.”

The Brazilian student caught the filmmakers by surprise when she announced that most of her money from the sale would go to charities helping to build houses in her home town of Santa Catarina. Sisley was under the impression that Catarina was part of the project for the press, and profit. He stated:

“I was surprised she said that because in all my dealings with her, she made it clear that it was a business decision for her. Now, given how big this story is in Brazil, she’s trapped. If she doesn’t give any money to charity, she’s going to look bad.”

Migliorini is not the only one who was auctioned off. Her male counterpart Alex Stepanov sold his virginity as well for a jaw dropping price of $3,000 (about 260 times less than Catarina.)
