According to the mathematics done by the U.S. Census Bureau, the non-Hispanic white will become the single largest minority by 2060.
The Government department, using the science of mathematical projection, has predicted that by 2060 the United States will be one-third Latino. The percentages of African American and Asian populations will also rise, making non-Hispanic white population the single largest minority in the country.
Also according to the projections the population is expected to grow slowly over the next few years, doubling the amount of seniors over the age of 65. The population of seniors over the age of 85 is expected to triple (that is if the Mayan apocalypse doesn’t just tidy up that number quickly).
The non-Hispanic white population is projected to peak in 2024, the slowly decrease over time falling by nearly 20.6 million people by 2060.
In the meantime the Hispanic population will likely double, and by the end of the period nearly one in three U.S. residents will be Hispanic. Asian Americans populations will also double in the same period of time.
The African American population is expected to increase marginally over the same time period and hold steady.
In the remaining race groups, American Indian and Alaska Native populations will increase by more than half, and the number of mixed race people will triple over the same period.
