Thieves Grab Seven Masterpieces From Netherlands Museum

Well, I guess this means White Collar’s on hiatus: Seven paintings have been stolen from Rotterdam’s Kunsthal museum, the largest art heist in the Netherlands in over twenty years.

Anyone know where Neal Caffery is? No? Well, okay, then.

Here’s what paintings were stolen:

Pablo Picasso’s “Tete d’Arlequin”

Henri Matisse’s “La Liseuse en Blanc et Jaune”

Claude Monet’s “Waterloo Bridge, London”

Claude Monet’s “Charing Cross Bridge, London”

Paul Gauguin’s “Femme Devant une Fenetre Ouverte, dite La Fiancee”

Meyer de Haan’s “Autoportrait”

Lucian Freud’s “Woman with Eyes Closed”

As far as the investigation is concerned, a statement from the police said, ”An initial investigation suggests that the robbery was well prepared.”

Well, I would imagine so.

By the time police responded to the alarm, the thieves were long gone.

The paintings are valued in the millions of Euros, but good luck trying to fence that internationally-recognized merch at retail price.

Question: What’s your favorite painting or piece of artwork?
