The planet is called ’55 Cancri e,’ instead of its proper title, ‘BLING!11′
The newly-discovered planet is over twice the size of Earth and orbits a star that is visible to the naked eye. Its mass is eight times greater, as well, which makes sense, given that it’s 1/3 diamond.
Fun Fact: A year on BLING!11 lasts 18 hours, due to its speed.
Funner Fact: Its surface temperature is almost 4,000 degrees F! Should be cooler, what with all that ice….
Funnest Fact: The planet is 230 trillion miles away, so reach for the stars, kids! And if you don’t make it, it’s probably because you starved to death before you were even a fraction of the way there!
