The second presidential debate on Tuesday was incredibly heated and Mitt Romney’s oldest son Tagg was clearly upset about it. So upset, that when interviewed on a North Carolina radio show about it he said his instinct was to “jump out of your seat” and “rush down to the debate stage and take a swing.”

Tagg Romney quickly corrected himself, saying he wasn’t speaking literally about the president.

“You know you can’t do that because, well, first because there’s a lot of Secret Service between you and him, but also because this is the nature of the process. You know, they’re going to do everything the can do to try to make my dad into someone he’s not. We signed up for it. We’ve got to, kind of sit there and take our punches and then send them right back the other way.”

Media outlets around the country have picked up on the sound bite. Some are calling the comment disgusting and disrespectful while others are hailing it as brave him to state considering the stakes that are at risk.

Question!

What do you think nation, were Tagg Romney’s comments disrespectful or is it commendable that he wants to defend his father in the wake of hard criticism?
