Well, this is going to be a pick-me-upper: The Stoker trailer has dropped, and Nicole Kidman almost stares you dead in the face and says, “I can’t wait to watch life tear you apart.”
Man, I have the most depressing/frightening boner.
Trailer embedded after the jump.
The film revolves around the Stoker family in the aftermath of the death of Mia Wasikowska’s father. Shortly thereafter, her uncle Charlie (Matthew Goode), begins to stay in the house with her and her incredibly unstable mother (Nicole Kidman).
Written by Wentworth Miller – yes, the guy from Prison Break – the script for Stoker was on The Black List for 2010. Directed by Park Chan-wook, this is his first English-speaking film. (He’s the director of Oldboy, Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance, and the criminally underrated Sympathy For Lady Vengeance.)
Scott Free Productions, headed up by Ridley and the late Tony Scott, are producers on the film.
Enjoy the trailer. Or… I guess not enjoy, but watch it and feel sad and scared at the same time…?
