Scientists Are Saving Lives … One Breath Strip at a Time!

Everyone has experienced that moment of regret when you grab a slice of pizza and chow down, without actually checking to see if it came from the firey pits of Hell! We ask ourselves the serious question, “When can I throw money at science type people to save me from the horrors of a burnt tongue?”  Well the answer is finally here! A group of scientists from the University of New Mexico have developed a breath strip that provides pain relief from burns and promotes healing!

These strips give immediate relief for the user with with tongue, cheek and inner mouth injuries. The researchers are looking to strenghten them so they could aid patients with more severe burns. The next step for these little strips is human testing and taste experimentation, and lead researcher Jason McConville stated that,

“We found these strips to be non-toxic, which has huge potential for anyone who burns their mouth while eating and drinking hot foods—and that’s just about everyone,” said McConville. “The strips look and behave similar to breath freshening strips that you might find at your local drugstore.”

I can see there could be other uses for this technology in the future,  but is there a dire need for a medical treatment to sooth a slightly burnt mouth?

QUESTION, QUESTION, QUESTION:

Would you guys buy a pack of these, or do you think these are just silly?
