President Barack Obama was selected for Time Magazine’s Person of the Year … Again!
TIME published a lengthy article describing the specific details as to why they chose him (click here).
The main reason for Obama being selected a second time is because Obama won a second term, when it was predicted for him to lose. Also, after is first term, he is more experienced and is more prepared to tackle difficult situations our country is facing.
TIME’s Michael Scherer stated:
“After four of the most challenging years in the nation’s history, his chance to leave office as a great President who was able to face crises and build a new majority coalition remains within reach.”
Runner-ups for the title were:
- Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani schoolgirl who spoke out against the Taliban regime.
- Egypt’s President Mohamed Morsi
- Italian particle physicist Fabiola Gianotti
- Apple CEO Tim Cook
Hopefully, Obama can live up to expectations and move this country in a positive direction. Although things are looking bleak for this countries financial and education system, our government can pull though a deliver us a plan as long as they figure out that they must work together.
SO QUESTION:
Do you agree with the decision? Who would you have chosen for Person of the Year?
