The internet has exploded with rage after a video of NYPD officers beating an unarmed man hit the web this past weekend.
A volunteer guard at ALIYA Institute in Crown Heights called the police due to threats the victim, Ehud Haleavy was making threats. The guard named Zalmy Trappler, said he found Haleavy sleeping naked in the center. When he asked Haleavy to dress and leave the center Trappler was verbally threatened. It was then he made the phone call to the local police department. According to both the police and Trappler, Haleavy threatened the officers as well.
Reports are saying that one of the officers allegedly involved has been placed on modified duty.
Haleavy has been charged with assault, trespassing, resisting arrest and harassment.
