Nerd Porn: Sequels And Gravity Guns

We’ve got a lot to tear into, today: Pretty much everyone’s doing a sequel, you can buy Half-Life 2′s Gravity Gun, and 4chan straight up trolled North Korea. Here we go, it’s Nerd Porn.

It wasn’t until SlashFilm laid it out that I really began to realize how insane studios have become with their sequels:

  • Jackie Chan joins Expendables 3, wants to do Rush Hour 4
  • Dennis Haysbert talks about replacing Michael Clarke Duncan in Sin City 2
  • Mark Wahlberg calls Transformers 4 the most important role of his career
  • Michael Bay says that the “leaked” Transformers 4 script is a fake
  • David Wain is definitely still working on Wet Hot American Summer 2
  • Adam Green is excited to explore Victor Crowley’s story in Hatchet III
  • J.J. Abrams has thoughts on the 3D conversion for Star Trek Into Darkness
  • George Miller‘s Mad Max: Fury Road has finished shooting
  • New images and plot details emerge for The Hangover Part 3
  • A still from Red 2 shows off some godawful outfits

I… hrm. That’s a whole mess of sequels coming down the pipeline.

However, a couple of those sequels I’m very much excited for. Sin City had like three separate movies in there, so “sequel” isn’t really the right word for it. And then there’s Star Trek Into Darkness, the trailer of which has officially dropped:

Next year, the gravity gun from Half-Life 2 will be available for purchase (in toy form). Here it is:

These guys also did the Portal gun, so they know what they’re doing.

And finally, 4chan decided to troll North Korea by manipulating the voting to make it seem like Kim Jong Un was going to be TIME’s Person Of The Year. Turns out, they were doing much more than that:

Full story’s over at the Wall Street Journal. And for the record, I think it should be Malala Yousafzai.
