HitRECord.org is an online professional collaborative production company run by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and it’s hitting the road this fall!
The company has been rapidly expanding since 2010 screening several short films at Sundance Film Festival and South by Southwest Film Festival. It has also released a small clothing line, a series of books called The Tiny Book of Tiny Stories, a quarterly magazine called the HitRECorderly and an anthology called The RECollection featuring the work of over 741 collaborators on the site. HitRECord has also held in the past a series of shows, a college tour in 2011, and now are coming back strong with a fall tour along the east coast.
Some users have expressed concern over the site’s rapid expansion, and think that the new shows should focus on the old rather than gathering the new. Others feel like new members will re-invigorate the site. Many of the users or HitRECorders as they are called are making plans to room together, gather together, and create new art. Ultimately this is what the site is about, creating beautiful collaborative art and that part is working beautifully.
Either way the shows look to be a mecca for collaborative art creation, and promise to be a blast!
