So, Taitex Phlamachha, a former Gurkha* from Kent, was out at a money machine with his wife. Then a mugger came out and attacked them.
Taitex got into a full-on fight with the mugger, fought him off, and sent the guy packing.
Paramedics come by to check him out, and only after running a metal detector over him did they find that a five-inch piece of blade had broken off in his frickin’ arm.
He hadn’t even realized it. The blade was coming at his chest and he blocked with his arm, then continued fighting.
The mugger was later picked up by police.
* A Gurkha is kind of the British equivalent to the French Foreign Legion. They meet a lot of the requirements for mercenary groups under the Geneva Conventions, but are exempt from them in the same way the FFL is. Former Chief of staff of the Indian Army (back when they were a British colony), Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, once said, ”If a man says he is not afraid of dying, he is either lying or is a Gurkha.”
