Facebook’s News Feed Redesign

Facebook is (yet again) changing how it looks and hopefully will quash some of the problems it’s last re-design created.

The new look will reportedly give users a fresh way to catch up with what their friends are doing. They can sort through the photos they are sharing or music that they are listening to.

News tiles will be larger, with splashier photos and videos.

The design will also offer several different feeds, rather than just “Top Stories” or “Most Recent”. Other feeds will be available such as the Photo feed which will display all the shared photos put out by your friends. Another example is the Follow feed which will display the feeds of celebrities and pages that you follow.

The changes are meant to address the fact that users have been asking for more control over what appears on the news feed.

The new Facebook feed will be unified over all devices from your computer to your phone to your tablet, so you can digest your news the same way no matter what you’re using at the time.

For advertisers this means glossier photos and better content can be provided to show off their wares, but will have to contend with the issues presented in drawing in potential customers with the new feeds tab.
