Chick-Fil-A is back at it again, issuing a statement saying that it has no plans to stop supporting organizations that “strengthen families and enrich marriages”.
This statement contradicts reports from earlier this year that the company would no longer donate to anti-gay organizations.
Even after the boycotts.
And the same-sex kiss-ins.
And even after the city of Boston banned the company from opening a store there.
Chick-fil-A President and COO Dan Cathy has hardened his stance and is making it clear that nothing has changed. ”Families are very important to our country,” he reportedly said. “They’re very important to all of us who are concerned about being able to hang on to the heritage that we have. We support Biblical families, and they’ve always been a part of that.”
It’s pretty unclear what Cathy means by that. There are several styles of “family” written about in the bible. One can only hope that he personally sticks to a one man and one woman sort of family since I wouldn’t want to see his rhetoric live on or have his horrendous genes pass to some poor unfortunate soul.
What it all boils down to is, would you be able to support a company who spends it’s money contradicting what you believe in? Or is the food too damn good?
