Yes she may have struck him first but I’m sure with much less force then he chose to use. He was twice her size n age he could have killed her and for what because she popped him? He was way more aggressive then her not only did he punch her n knock her out but he woke her up by grabbing her hair n throwing her off the bus. And you know by how he reacted this ain’t the first woman he has beat up.
SO…This is..interesting. What end up happening to the bus driver? Fired…jail? Did she get in trouble? There comes a point when a woman, or man can talk so much trash that you have to control the situation. She was obviously out of line.
After watching the full video instead of a clip, I’ve come to the logical conclusion that the driver and the passenger are both at fault. The driver was egging on the passenger as she kept with her verbal assaults. However, she crossed the line at the moment she physically assaulted the driver, it became a solid case of an arrest for felony assault. But the driver in raged decided to take matters in his own hands instead of calling the police. Even though some may say the girl deserved it, the bus driver should have restrained himself and not have made it bad situation worse.
One fact is that it was words on words until she went up and him him first and while driving a bus full of people. I really in truly hate to say it but I think she deserved this, maybe just throw her off but she was asking for it! On another note, I give that girl some extremely high marks, she took a hit that a lot of guys couldn’t!

I don’t know what the whole argument was even about, but it seems like he, as the bus driver, should try and exercise a bit professionalism and just let her rant until the next stop, then kick her off the bus or call the police to come take her off the bus. I’m sure he’ll claim self-defense, but that will be a hard sell considering she was backing away and he got up and approached her. Having said that, the woman was a moron for acting like that and for hitting him in the first place.
I took transit every day for a few years. Bus drivers put up with so much bullshit every day… for some reason everyone thinks they can be rude to a bus driver, walk all over them, treat them almost like they’re subhuman. This poor guy probably had to deal with assholes all the time. Frankly, this lady’s attitude isn’t surprising. She just took it a step further and maybe he was also at the brink. A perfect storm. I’m happy to finally see some retribution.

Looks like the 59 year old driver was threatened and assaulted by a 25 year old adult passenger. Being responsible for the non-violent passengers, he reduced the violent threat to him and his passengers and removed the assailant from the bus. Looks like a clear case of self defense and professionalism in removing a violent passenger from his sphere of responsibility. She should be charged with aggravated assault and maybe “Shi-Dea N. Lane” will think twice next time before assaulting a bus driver.

I don’t believe in all that bullshit about not hitting a girl. I consider myself a pacifist and will avoid conflict whenever possible. However, I have the right to defend myself against any attacker. If anyone approaches me with the intention to do harm, be it man, woman, or dog, I will not hesitate to knock them out. That’s why I go out of my way to avoid children. Because if some shithead 12 year old desides he wants to be a man I’ll probably end up getting sent to jail for beating his ass.

When the girl hit the guy, it’s automatic assault, no matter what gender, race, etc. It wasn’t very professional in my opinion, for the bus driver to hit her, and maybe loose his job, but still, assault is assault. Also every person has a right to self defense, even though the bus driver had a choice. There is no such thing as verbal abuse, but there is a physical one.

If you listen in the first 10 seconds, you’ll know what went down before the video started. The women recording says “threatening to kill on the bus, acting a fool”. The bus driver clearly didnt put up with that and said something, so the female starts acting like she’s hard talking about how she’ll start whooping ass. From there, she attacks the bus driver and he gets up and knocks her into next week. Right there, I’m A-OK with this.
Then after she gets knocked the F out, she wakes up and keeps running her mouth. She then says that she’ll get her “man” and father to come “beat the black out you”. Yet again, another threat of violence against him. Even getting knocked out didn’t teach her to shut up and respect those around you. She deserved another upercut for not knowing when to shut the F up.

I hate that people are quick to put the bus driver at fault. There’s a longer video of what happened and, even apparent with this one, the woman provoked the bus driver by yelling, spitting on him and striking him first. You can tell he was fed up. Yes, this isn’t the best method of reaction but he is not completely in the wrong. In a follow up video from a news cast you find out that he has been driving the bus for like 22 years. He’s probably seen worst. Working with the general public myself, I see first hand the type of people you deal with. They can really push you to the edge! That woman did not have to do what she did.

I’m all for the argument that girls shouldn’t hide behind the “I’m a girl” shield if they’re going to try to provoke a man to fight, especially with some sort of physical contact. However, I also believe that this man is a professional in a situation where he wasn’t in immediate physical danger. Clearly his anger got the best of him because she pushed him (or hit him, it is kinda blocked on the video), and then she backed off as he proceeded to tell her that she was “going to jail now”. Once she backed off, he could have left or told her to leave the bus and call the authorities if he wanted to press charges or if he thought something else might have come of it. If he felt his life was threatened, he would not have had to walk over to her to give her that uppercut. And I don’t know what caused the physical contact, but he sounded at least as responsible as she did as he was also insulting her.
I would stand by this opinion if it were guy/guy or girl/girl as well. This man was hired on the assumption that he has a professional demeanor, just as the cashier at a store is, and that they will not engage in verbal insults with customers and certainly not engage in physical fights with customers. The situation got out of hand when the girl did – what looked like – a swipe across his face. He definitely had the option to not uppercut her Street Fighter style. Anger aside, important things to consider at this point are your livelihood and your health. Like any human being, all of these things will speed through your mind and the decision to strike back will be motivated by your anger it will carry significantly more weight.
Whether that was a woman or a man we all have a choice to go with an action motivated by anger or by logic. He only needed to get her to stop hitting him and since she backed away a binding maneuver would have sufficed – but that decision is hard to arrive at when some annoying-ass person is literally trying to piss you off for doing your job.
The way one regains control could vary. He happened to chose wrong because the situation, in fact, didn’t return to normalcy and the crowd of onlookers seemed to coalesce into a mutiny because of his choice of action (right?, they were on his side while she talked shit).
So, in the end she had her ego and body bruised and her perspective of the world rocked; while he uppercutted the shit out of a bitchy girl and is possibly out of a job.

Yeah there is that rule of don’t hit women but if a women punches you in the face, she has just declared herself and equal.
